Since the 2017 North Bay fires, we have come together at family resource centers and agricultural worksites throughout Sonoma County. Our programs include Farmworkers Clinics, Promotora CHA led wellness workshops, and community medicine gardens.
The Botanical Bus: Bilingual Mobile Herb Clinic takes community-based action to meet the needs of growing health disparity in the Latinx and Indigenous communities. Our clinic recognizes the knowledge of the people as an unlimited and invaluable resource, and is driven by the proven success of the self-healing community model in which holistic health is empowered by the people, for the people.
In 2021 The Botanical Bus: Bilingual Mobile Herb Clinic will:
- Provide 500 Latinx and Indigenous residents of Sonoma County with direct upstream integrative health care through Farmworker Clinics
- Connect 10 Promotoras with integrative care professionals through quarterly enrichment retreats that grow leadership skills and health education based on a community needs assessment
- Organize 20 wellness workshops, led by Promotoras, to reach 375 community members online and in Family Resource Center gardens
- Distribute 500 mutual-aid herbal care kits and 200 garden kits to Farmworkers and their families
